Tatyana
Ilinichna Khamzina – chief specialist
of soil meliorative justification and irrigation regime department
of the Uzgipromeliovodkhoz institute, Ministry of Agriculture and
Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
She was
born in Ukraine in 1953. After graduation from the Odessa hydro meteorological
institute she received a specialty of agro meteorologist and in 1976
was sent to work at that time the biggest design-survey and scientific
investigation institute on irrigation and meliorative construction
“ Sredazgiprovodkhlopok” institute, in which works at present time.
She has
multi year professional experience (more than 25 years) in the field
of land melioration of arid zones. Her service duty is technical guidance
and methodic control over implementation of investigation, connected
with rehabilitation and improvement of land, water use and management
of soil fertility.
At present
, she is the national consultant of FAO Project «Integrated amangement
for sustainable use of salt affected and gypsiferous soils in Uzbekistan».
As a consultant on management of degradated soils, she renders an
assists and consultations to local specialists, controls over their
implementation, makes an assessment their impact, results and achievements
of the project. In organization of Farmer Field Schools (FFS) in the
Syrdarya and Kashkadarya regions took part in working out of training
plans and preperation of facilitators for FFS on the training module
«Soil ferility and crop management»
During the work period in the institute participated in big projects
of different phases of designing, financed by the MAWR of the Republic
of Uzbekistan (Schemes of complex utilization of water resources of
the rivers Amudarya and Syrdarya, and Aral Sea basin, as well as ASBM
Syrdarya and ASBM Amudarya.1985-1990), and in international projects
(Preliminary Study of the Uzbekistan Drainage Project. Phase I and
II of the World Bank. (1996-1998); Project of Agricultural Development
of the Ak altin district of the Syrdarya region. Agency on Restructuring
of ADB (2002-2003); TCP project – Integrated management for sustainable
use of salt affected and gypsiferous soils. FAO UN, 2002 –2004.
